QUEENのギタリストとして活躍し、数々のビッグアーティスト達とのセッションやコラボもこなすイギリスを代表するギターレジェンドの一人Brian May。
こちらは本人が製作し、長年愛用して来たレッド・スペシャルを自身のブランドとして製品化したモデル、Brian May Special。
象徴的なAntique Cherryカラーと特徴的なコントロールレイアウトを持つ、2015年製の個体です。

ネックシェイプは程よい厚みを持たせ、トラッドスタイルの方々には馴染みのある握り心地を有しております。
しかしながら握りづらいという印象は無く、初心者の方を始め幅広いスタイルのプレイヤーの方々にフィットしてくれます。

木材構成はマホガニーボディ、マホガニーネック、エボニー指板からの組み合わせを採用。
小ぶりなボディと3.36kgという軽さとの組み合わせのおかげで中低域はまとまりが感じられ、軽やかさもある明るい高域を持った組み合わせです。

ピックアップにはオリジナルのTri Sonic PUをマウント。
ギラ付きと程よいダーティさも感じられるシングルコイルモデルを搭載し、クリーントーンでは粒立ちの良いサウンドが各コントロールへの追従性も良好です。
ドライヴ時にはよりエッジが立ち、鋭さが増したサウンドがロックスタイルにもしっかりと対応し、個性が引き立つ音色です。
また特徴的なコントロールレイアウトによる各PUのオン/オフ、フェイズスイッチのフェイズスイッチの組み合わせによって幅広いサウンドメイクが可能な点も魅力の一つです。

コンディションは経年や使用に伴うスリキズや打痕、パーツ類のくすみやサビ、メッキ類の剥げ、一部塗装にひびや割れ、欠けの他バックパネルが欠品しておりますが大きく目立つ物は無く、フレットの余力もしっかりとあり、トラスロッドの効きも良好な即戦力としてこれからもお使い頂けるコンディション。

Brian May, one of Britain's legendary guitarists, is renowned for his work with QUEEN and his numerous sessions and collaborations with major artists.
This is the Brian May Special, a model based on the Red Special he personally crafted and played for years, now produced under his own brand.
This 2015 model features the iconic Antique Cherry finish and distinctive control layout.

The neck shape offers a moderate thickness, providing a familiar grip for traditional-style players.
However, it never feels unwieldy, making it comfortable for beginners and players across a wide range of styles.

The wood configuration features a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard.
The combination of a compact body and light weight (3.36kg) results in a cohesive mid-low range paired with bright, airy highs.

It mounts the original Tri Sonic PU.
This single-coil model delivers a sparkle with just the right amount of grit. Clean tones exhibit well-defined clarity with excellent responsiveness to control adjustments.
When driven, the sound gains a sharper edge and increased bite, making it perfectly suited for rock styles while showcasing a distinctive character.
Another appealing feature is the extensive sound-shaping potential offered by the unique control layout. This allows for individual pickup selection (on/off) and phase switching, enabling a wide range of tonal possibilities.

Condition: While showing signs of age and use—including surface scratches, dents, tarnished/rusty parts, plating wear, some paint cracks/chips/chipping, and a missing back panel—there are no major flaws. The frets have ample life remaining, the truss rod functions well, and it's ready for immediate use.

A distinctive piece inspired by the beloved instrument of a legendary guitarist.
