ケンタッキー州ウインチェスターに工房を構える「RSギターワークス」は、ヴィンテージギターのリペアやレストアの経験豊富なビルダーRoy Bowen氏とScott Leedy氏によって設立。
地元のミュージシャンはもちろんのこと、口コミで広がった彼らの仕事ぶりを求めて多くのミュージシャンのリペアや製作を手がけています。

ヴィンテージギターにインスパイアされたデザインにユニークなアイデアを取り入れたギター作りが最大の魅力で、こちらは同ブランドの中でも特に個性派といえる逸品「ワークホース」、2025年製個体です。

最も歴史のあるソリッド・エレクトリック(同社ではOld Friend Slabと名付けています)をベースに、長年弾き込まれ、カスタマイズされてきた姿を表現しています。

メイプル1ピースのネックは中太の63Cシェイプを採用。フラットな指板面と大きめのフレットでスムーズな演奏性に仕上げています。
ヘヴィなエイジド加工に対しグリップ面の塗膜を維持することで、環境変化によるネックへの負担軽減が考慮されています。

近年まではPauloniaボディが主流でしたが、こちらの個体はアッシュボディに回帰。硬質かつパンチのある鳴りと、軽量さゆえの表情豊な響きをお楽しみいただけます。

リアルなウェザーチェックや大胆な凹みが道具として使い込まれてきた風合いを生み出しています。
ブリッジサドルは「アルミ」「ステンレス」「ブラス」の3種類を各弦ごとに変えることで、独特な響きを狙っています。

ドッグイヤータイプのP90を強引に取り付け、TONEコントロールはスイッチで2wayのみ、というワイルドなセンスが光ります。

元々の加工が多いため判断が難しいですが、フレットの目立った消耗は見受けられず、ネック＆トラスロッドのコンディション良好、使用感の少ない良い状態を維持しています。

RS Guitar Works, based in Winchester, Kentucky, was founded by builders Roy Bowen and Scott Leedy, who have extensive experience repairing and restoring vintage guitars. They repair and build guitars for not only local musicians, but also many other musicians who have come to seek out their work through word of mouth.

Their greatest appeal lies in their guitars, which incorporate unique ideas into designs inspired by vintage guitars. This is a particularly distinctive masterpiece from the brand, the "Workhorse," manufactured in 2025.

Based on their oldest solid-state electric guitar (which the company calls the Old Friend Slab), this guitar expresses the look of a guitar that has been played and customized over the years.

The one-piece maple neck features a medium-thick 63C profile. The flat fingerboard and large frets ensure smooth playability.

The heavy aging process maintains the coating on the grip surface, reducing stress on the neck due to environmental changes.

Until recently, Paulonia bodies were the norm, but this model returns to an ash body. Enjoy the solid, punchy sound and expressive resonance that comes from its lightweight construction.

The realistic weather checking and bold dents create the appearance of a well-used tool.
The bridge saddles are made of three different types - aluminum, stainless steel, or brass - and are changed for each string to create a unique sound.

The highlight of this model is undoubtedly the pickup assembly.
The dog-ear type P90 is forcibly attached, and the tone control is only a 2-way switch, showing off a wild sense of style.
The dedicated pickups made by Lindy Fralin are mounted, providing a wide range and a clear attack.

It's difficult to judge due to the amount of original work involved, but there's no noticeable wear to the frets, the neck and truss rod are in good condition, and the guitar is in excellent condition with little signs of use.

Comes with an original hard case, certificate, and warranty card.
