RG5/7シリーズとは違うボディシェイプのRG!!

1987年、Ibanezは大きな転換期を迎えました。それまでのラインナップを見直し、3つの新しいシェイプのエレキギターを発表いたしました。
Sシリーズ、Rシリーズ、RGシリーズ、この新世代ギターがデビューしRG、Sシリーズは現在でもIbanezの主力機種として、基本的なシェイプを変えずに人気を得ています。

その中でもRGシリーズは特に人気のあるシリーズとして現在も多数のバリエーションがございますが、シェイプはほぼ統一化されていますが、1987年登場当時、RGには3タイプのシェイプがありました。
その中では3シリーズ、5シリーズ、7シリーズは共通のボディシェイプとなっており、現在まで続くRGシェイプはこちらのシェイプが継承されています。それ以外の4シリーズ、6シリーズはこちらのシェイプと異なっておりこちらは6シリーズのやや丸みのある流線型が美しいシェイプとなっています。
こちらのモデルは6シリーズのRG670となります。

ボディには他のRGでもお馴染みのBasswoodを使用、どの音域も平均的に出るフラットなサウンドでアンプやエフェクターでの音作りにも最適です。
ネックには、当時のRGシリーズの標準であった1pc.Mapleを使用、スカーフヘッドジョイントが採用されています。指板には贅沢な厚みのあRosewoodを使用、シンプルなドットインレイとなっています。

ブリッジには、現在でもSteve Vai、Joe Satriani等、アーミングを多用するトップアーティストにも使用されている、EDGEトレモロを搭載、滑らかなタッチでチューニングをキープします。

ピックアップには、フロント、センターにSuper 8Aシングルコイル、リアにV2となっておりミドルパワーで粒立ちのはっきりとしたサウンドです。

コントロールはシンプルな1ヴォリューム、1トーン 5wayピックアップセレクター、リアのダイレクトスイッチ、トーンポッドはPush-Pullスイッチとなっており、リアハムバッカーのシングルコイルタップスイッチとなっています。

ネックのコンディションに問題はございません。フレットは目立った凹みなく、充分残っています。
全体的に年式相応の打痕、擦り傷、塗装欠け、剥げがございます。金属パーツにメッキ剥げ、くすみ、錆がございます。
ロックナットの裏側の木部にクラック補修がございます。

The RG features a different body shape from the RG5/7 series!

In 1987, Ibanez underwent a major transformation. We overhauled our lineup and introduced three new electric guitar shapes.
This new generation of guitars—the S Series, R Series, and RG Series—debuted, and the RG and S Series remain Ibanez flagship models to this day, retaining their popular, fundamental shapes.

Of these, the RG series is a particularly popular series, and there are still many variations to this day, but the shape has become more or less standardized. However, when RG was introduced in 1987, there were three types of shapes.
Of these, the 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series all share a common body shape, and this shape has been inherited as the RG shape that continues to this day. The other series, the 4 Series and 6 Series, differ from this shape, with the 6 Series having a beautiful, slightly rounded, streamlined shape.
This model is the RG670 from the 6 Series.

The body is made of Basswood, a material also used in other RG guitars, and produces a flat, even sound across the entire range, making it ideal for creating sounds with amplifiers and effects. The neck is made of 1-piece Maple, which was standard for the RG series at the time, and features a scarf head joint. The fingerboard is made of luxuriously thick Rosewood and features simple dot inlays.

The bridge is equipped with the EDGE tremolo, a style still used today by top artists who frequently use arm strokes, such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, providing a smooth touch and keeping the tuning in tune.

The pickups are Super 8A single-coils in the neck and center, and a V2 in the bridge, producing a mid-power sound with a clear, crisp tone.
The controls are simple: 1 volume, 1 tone, 5-way pickup selector, rear direct switch, push-pull tone pod, and single coil tap switch for the rear humbucker.

The neck is in good condition. The frets are in good condition with no noticeable dents.
There are dents, scratches, chipped paint, and peeling throughout, consistent with the guitar's age. There is peeling plating, tarnish, and rust on metal parts.
There is a crack that has been repaired in the wood behind the lock nut.

This is a rare model with an unusual body shape that was only produced for a short period of time!
