今では様々なシーンのプレイヤー達に使用され、一般的な認知度も上がった7弦ギター。
今回入荷致しました品は歴史上初の市場量産品7弦ギターとして発表された記念すべきIbanezのSteve Vaiシグネチャーモデル、UV7 Universe。
1990年製の初年度、Lo-Pro Edge7マウントの個体となります。
目を惹くグリーンドットインレイ、PUカバーやノブも色あせが少ない、良好なコンディションを保った個体です。

ネックシェイプは薄く仕上げられた専用ネックシェイプUVを採用。
薄く仕上げられたIbanezらしいネックシェイプはストレスも少なく、後のその他のUniverseシリーズやIbanezの7弦モデル達へと受け継がれる良質な握り心地を有しております。

木材構成はアメリカンバスウッドボディ、メイプルネック、ローズウッド指板からの構成を採用。
バスウッドらしいフラットな音響特性のおかげで中低域もまとまりの良さが感じられ、伸びやかな高域が印象的なバランスの良い組み合わせです。

ピックアップには当時UVシリーズの為に製作された7弦ピックアップモデル、DiMarzio Blaze IIをHSH構成でマウント。
出力の高さと高域と低域が強く押し出されたキャラクターを持ち、クリーントーンでは音粒の揃いも良く、バランスの良さと扱いやすいサウンド傾向は今なお健在です。
ドライヴ時にはより厚みと重厚感が増した迫力のある音色を出力し、反応の良さも合わさる事でテクニカルなフレーズへの追従性も良好です。

コンディションは経年や使用に伴うスリキズや打痕、パーツ類のくすみやサビ、メッキ剥げ、一部塗装の欠けや割れ、色焼けが見受けられますがフレットの減りも少なく、トラスロッドの効きも良好なこれからも末永くお使い頂ける良好なコンディション。

7弦ギターの歴史の中でも重要な位置付けを持つ特別な品の一つです。

The 7-string guitar is now used by players in various scenes and has gained widespread recognition.
This item is the commemorative Ibanez Steve Vai signature model, the UV7 Universe, announced as the first mass-produced 7-string guitar in history.
It is a Lo-Pro Edge7 mount model from the first year of production in 1990.
It is in good condition, with eye-catching green dot inlays and pickup covers and knobs that show little fading.

The neck shape is a thin, custom UV neck shape.
The thin neck shape, typical of Ibanez, is comfortable to hold and has a high-quality feel that was passed on to later Universe series and other Ibanez 7-string models.

The wood composition consists of an American basswood body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard.
Thanks to the flat acoustic characteristics typical of basswood, the mid and low frequencies feel well-balanced, and the impressive, expansive high frequencies create a well-balanced combination.

The pickups are DiMarzio Blaze II 7-string pickups, which were made for the UV series at the time, mounted in an HSH configuration.
It delivers high output with a character emphasizing both treble and bass. Clean tones exhibit excellent note definition, maintaining its well-balanced and easy-to-handle sound characteristics to this day.
When driven, it produces a powerful tone with increased thickness and weight. Combined with its responsive nature, it offers excellent tracking for technical phrases.

Condition shows signs of age and use: surface scratches, dents, tarnished/rusty parts, plating wear, some paint chips/cracks, and color fading. However, fret wear is minimal, the truss rod functions well, and it remains in good condition for long-term use.

This is one of the special instruments holding an important place in the history of 7-string guitars.
