フェンダー・エレクトリックギターを広めるために開発された"Musicmaster / Duo-Sonic"は、小ぶりなデザインとコンパクトなネックを採用したジュニアサイズのシンプルなモデルです。
そのバリエーションモデルのひとつとして独自のトレモロユニットとスイッチを装備したモデル"Mustang"の発売に合わせて仕様変更された頃のミュージックマスター、1964年製個体です。

いわゆるラージヘッドストックよりも先端がやや小さい、初期のムスタングに見られる"スモールヘッド"、ミュージック・マスターIIとしては初年度の個体です。
約39mmのスリムなナット幅に、Jaguar / Mustangと同じ24"スケールのネックにラウンド貼りされた指板は実に良い色合いで、'60s前期のヴィンテージギターの魅力を感じていただけます。

Mustangと同じラインで製造できるようにアッセンブリーデザインを一新し、「ノントレモロ仕様のムスタング」というべきスタイルとなっています。
ムスタングよりもシンプルな構造の"トップローディング(弦表通し)"仕様のブリッジにより、緩いテンションと程よいタイトさを併せ持った響きが特長です。

ネックポジションのみのピックアップは、StratocasterやTelecasterに比べやや控えめの出力で、優しく煌びやかなトーンがとても魅力的です。

VOLポットの交換が見受けられ、当店入荷時にナット＆フレットを交換し、音詰まりなくスムーズな演奏性に調整いたしております。

年代相応の傷みがございますが、当時のシルバーハードケースが付属いたします。

Developed to popularize Fender electric guitars, the Musicmaster / Duo-Sonic is a simple junior-sized model with a small design and compact neck.
This is a 1964 Musicmaster from around the time the specifications were changed to coincide with the release of the Mustang, a variation model equipped with a unique tremolo unit and switch.

This is the first Music Master II to feature the "small head" seen on early Mustangs, with a tip that is slightly smaller than the so-called large headstock.
With a slim nut width of approximately 39mm and the same 24" scale neck as the Jaguar/Mustang, the fingerboard is rounded and has a beautiful color, allowing you to feel the charm of a vintage guitar from the early '60s.

The assembly design has been completely redesigned so that it can be manufactured on the same line as the Mustang, resulting in a style that could be described as a "non-tremolo Mustang."
The bridge has a simpler structure than the Mustang, with a "top-loading" design, giving it a sound that combines loose tension with just the right amount of tightness.
The neck-position pickup has a slightly lower output than the Stratocaster or Telecaster, and its gentle, brilliant tone is very appealing.

The VOL pot appears to have been replaced, and when it arrived at our store, the nut and frets were replaced and adjusted for smooth playability without any choking.

There is some wear appropriate for the age, but the original silver hard case is included.

The fading of the color over time gives this piece a sophisticated and tasteful character. If you're looking for a vintage '60s Fender or are interested in this one, don't miss out.
