'60年代後期CBSフェンダーにより開発された"Thinline"をはじめ、'70年代に入ってからもテレキャスターをベースにしたバリエーションモデルが発売されました。
こちらは1972年登場の"Custom"、1974年製個体です。

競合ブランドを強く意識した新しいピックアップ、"ワイドレンジ・ハムバッカー"をネックポジションに配し、2つのピックアップそれぞれにVOLUME & TONEコントロールを備え、1本のギターで2本分の多彩な音作りを目指しています。

ネックポジションは今までのフェンダーギターとは趣の異なるメロウなトーンに対応し、ブリッジポジションはテレキャスターらしさを残し、ミックス時の絶妙にクリアなサウンドが素晴らしく、特徴的です。

ネックエンドのコード、ポットデイトより'74年製と判断、後年にアッシュボディへ変更となる前のアルダーボディ個体です。

メイプル1ピースのネックはスリムなCシェイプで、当店入荷時リフレットを施工しています。
指板面の修正から行い、ポジションマークの埋め直し、グリップの色合いに合わせて再塗装、丁寧にエッジ加工をしております。
ジャンボサイズのフレットをチョイスし、明瞭な発音とスムーズな演奏性に調整をいたしております。

ブリッジ・ピックアップはオリジナルのコイルを活かし巻き直しが行われ、しっかりと整備されてきたことが窺えます。
ボディの塗装は広範囲に剥がれは見受けられ、色焼けやウェザーチェックなどヴィンテージギターならではの雰囲気たっぷりです。
その他ピックガード、ボディ背面弦ブッシュ一部、ストラップピンビスが交換されています。

当時のハードケースとマニュアルが付属いたします(それぞれ傷みがございます)。

Starting with the "Thinline" developed by CBS Fender in the late '60s, Telecaster-based variation models were released in the '70s.
This is a 1974 model, the "Custom," which was introduced in 1972.

A new pickup, a "wide-range humbucker" that is strongly influenced by competing brands, is placed in the neck position, and each of the two pickups has a VOLUME & TONE control, aiming to create the diverse sounds of two instruments in one guitar.

The neck position produces a mellow tone that is different from previous Fender guitars, while the bridge position retains the feel of a Telecaster, and the exquisitely clear sound when mixed is wonderful and distinctive.

Based on the chord and pot date on the neck end, we can determine that this guitar was made in 1974, and it has an alder body, before it was changed to an ash body in later years.

The one-piece maple neck is a slim C-shape, and was refretted when it arrived at our store.
We started by correcting the fingerboard surface, refilling the position marks, repainting it to match the color of the grip, and carefully processing the edges.
Jumbo-sized frets were chosen and adjusted for clear pronunciation and smooth playability.

The bridge pickup has been rewound using the original coil, and it is clear that it has been properly maintained.
The paint on the body has peeled over a wide area, and it has plenty of the atmosphere unique to a vintage guitar, with fading and weather checking.
The pickguard, some of the string bushings on the back of the body, and strap pin screws have also been replaced.

The original hard case and manual are included (each is damaged).

Its lightweight weight of about 3.5kg is attractive, and you can experience a percussive and expressive sound. It is a custom Terry that is easy to play, looks great, and has a great tone. If you are interested, please don't miss it.
