多弦ギターの歴史を語る上でその最たるブランドとして挙げられるIbanez。
今回入荷致しました品はローC#の重低音が楽しめる9弦モデル、RG9QM。
トップ材にキルトメイプルの化粧板を配置し、杢目の美しさが際立つBlack Iceカラーの個体です。

ネックシェイプは専用のWizard-9を採用しており、62mmのナット幅、712mm (28")のスケールではありますが持った際は意外にも手を添えやすく、Ibanezらしい良質な弾き心地が楽しめます。
ネック裏の塗装もきめ細かいサテン塗装に仕上げられており、素早いポジションの際もスムーズに行えます。
また通常インレイが無いモデルですが前オーナー様より蓄光のインレイシールが施されておりますので運指の際も迷いづらくなっております。

木材構成はボディにキルテッドメイプルの化粧板、バスウッドバック、メイプルとブビンガを合わせた5ピースネック、ローズウッド指板からの組み合わせを採用。
重量も3.83kgと多弦としては軽く、まとまりの良い中低域と伸びやかな高域が印象的な組み合わせです。

ピックアップにはオリジナルの9弦専用ピックアップQM-9をそれぞれにマウント。
9弦の低域も再現しやすく設計され、コントロールしやすいパワー感はクリーントーンでも反応が良く、煌びやかさもある音色がフレーズの再現性も良好です。
ドライヴ時にはよりギラつきが増し、重厚感のあるサウンドがエクストリームシーンのジャンルを始め幅広くお使い頂けます。

コンディションは経年や使用に伴うスリキズや打痕、パーツ類のくすみやサビ、一部塗装に小さなひび等がございますがフレットの余力もしっかりとあり、トラスロッドの効きも良好な即戦力としてこれからもお使い頂ける良好なコンディション。

Ibanez stands as the premier brand when discussing the history of multi-string guitars.
The model we've just received is the RG9QM, a 9-string instrument delivering deep bass tones down to low C#.
It features a quilted maple top veneer, showcasing the striking beauty of its grain in a Black Ice finish.

The neck shape employs the dedicated Wizard-9 design. Despite its 62mm nut width and 712mm (28") scale length, it surprisingly fits comfortably in the hand, delivering the signature Ibanez quality playability.
The neck back is finished with a fine satin coating, allowing smooth navigation during rapid position changes.
Although typically an inlay-free model, the previous owner applied glow-in-the-dark inlay stickers, making finger placement easier.

The wood construction combines a quilted maple veneer body, basswood back, a 5-piece neck (maple and bubinga), and a rosewood fingerboard.
Weighing a relatively light 3.83kg for a multi-string instrument, it delivers a well-balanced combination of tight mid-low frequencies and extended highs.

Each pickup is the original 9-string-specific QM-9.
Designed to easily reproduce the low end of a 9-string, its controllable power responds well even in clean tones, offering a sparkling tone with excellent phrase reproduction.
When driven, the sound gains more grit and a substantial weight, making it suitable for a wide range of genres, including extreme scenes.

Condition shows signs of age and use, including surface scratches, dents, tarnish or rust on parts, and minor paint cracks in some areas. However, the frets have ample life remaining, the truss rod works well, and it's in good condition ready for immediate use.

As players, Stephen Carpenter, Lucas Mann, Tosin Abasi, Mick Gordon, and many others are now using 9-strings, whether in bands, as solo artists, or even as composers for game music.
This is a recommended item for those seeking a reasonably priced yet usable 9-string.
