Roger Sadowskyに師事し、Sadowsky Tokyoを発足する等日本を代表するビルダーの一人、菊地嘉幸氏と数々のアーティスト達からその卓越したテクニックから絶対的な信頼を受ける国内有数のプレイヤーの一人、増崎孝司氏がプロデュースしているThree Dots Guitars。

今回入荷致しました品は現在では生産が完了してしまったモデル、LP。
その名の通りLPスタイルをベースに現在のスタジオミュージシャンにとって嬉しい要素を備えたThree Dotsらしいコンセプトのモデル。
ルックスも色鮮やかなVintage Sparking Burgundyが目を惹く、高級感のあるルックスに仕上げられております。

外観的にはトラッドなスタイルを思い起こしますがネックシェイプは薄く仕上げられたDシェイプに近い握り心地を持ち、更にジョイントもロングテノンを採用等弾き手に嬉しい仕様な点も魅力です。
指板面はR305-R400へ徐々に変化して行くコンパウンドラディアスを採用している点も演奏性の良さに貢献してくれています。

木材構成はメイプルトップ、アフリカンマホガニーバック、アフリカンマホガニーネック、インディアンローズウッド指板の伝統的な組み合わせを採用。
中低域は太さと艶やかさが感じられ、伸びやかな高域が印象的です。

ピックアップにはオリジナルのハムバッカーモデルOriginal Humbucker 02をマウント。
程よい出力値は楽器のキャラクターも引き出しやすい印象を感じさせ、クリーントーンでは音粒の揃いも良く、ボリュームやトーンコントロールへの追従性も良好です。
ドライヴ時にはLPスタイルらしい太さが感じられる音色が楽しめ、ロックジャンルを始め幅広くお使い頂けます。
そしてこちらのモデルの最大の特徴でもあるFree-Wayスイッチを採用したセレクターのおかげでコイルタップ機能を含めた6種類の音色へ切り替えられる事でサウンドバリエーションの豊富さも魅力です。

コンディションは経年や使用に伴うスリキズや打痕、パーツ類のくすみやサビが見受けられますがフレットの余力もしっかりとあり、トラスロッドの効きも良好な即戦力としてこれからもお使い頂けるコンディション。

Three Dots Guitars is produced by Yoshiyuki Kikuchi—one of Japan’s leading guitar builders, who studied under Roger Sadowsky and founded Sadowsky Tokyo—and Takashi Masuzaki, one of the country’s top players whose exceptional technique has earned him the absolute trust of numerous artists.

The model we’ve just received is the LP, a model that is no longer in production.
True to its name, this model is based on the LP style and incorporates features that today’s studio musicians will appreciate—a concept that is quintessentially Three Dots.
Its appearance features a vibrant Vintage Sparkling Burgundy finish that catches the eye, giving it a luxurious look.

While the exterior evokes a traditional style, the neck shape offers a grip similar to a slim D-shape, and the long tenon joint is just one of the player-friendly specifications that make this model appealing.
The fingerboard features a compound radius that gradually transitions from R305 to R400, contributing to excellent playability.

The wood configuration employs a traditional combination of a maple top, African mahogany back, African mahogany neck, and Indian rosewood fingerboard.
The low and mid-range tones are rich and lustrous, while the high-end is impressively open and airy.

It is equipped with the Original Humbucker 02 pickup.
The moderate output makes it easy to bring out the instrument’s character; in clean tones, the notes are well-defined, and the response to volume and tone controls is excellent.
When driven, you can enjoy a tone with the characteristic richness of an LP-style guitar, making it suitable for a wide range of genres, including rock.
Thanks to the selector switch featuring the Free-Way system—the standout feature of this model—you can switch between six different tones, including coil-tap functionality, offering a wealth of sonic variety.

In terms of condition, there are some scratches and dents from age and use, as well as some discoloration and rust on parts; however, the frets have plenty of life left, and the truss rod is functioning well, making this a ready-to-play instrument that will serve you well for years to come.

This high-spec model offers an eye-catching appearance and a wide range of sound variations.
